websters gue Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Maybe the bankers are closet communists - yes you read that correctly. Harry Pollitt, the leader of the Communist party of Great Britain told a group of high-flying young Left-wingers at Cambridge University: 'Don't join us. Work hard, get good degrees, join the Establishment and serve our cause from within". I've heard it all now, this forum gets dafter.
I1L2T3 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I do find a lot of Tory supporters on forums rather shrill, unimaginative, prone to hectoring and to making personal attacks. I find a lot of the Labour supporters very much the same. It's a bit like parliament really.
Stoatwobbler Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Despite the fact that the Tories haven’t won a single seat in Sheffield in living memory and support for the Tories in Sheffield is as rare as an intelligent thought in Cameron’s head this forum is flooded with extreme right wing fanatics who see fit to give us the benefit of their words of wisdom every minute of the day. Now I hate to spoil your fun but the Tories only lost Sheffield Hallam in 1997 and 14 years of no Tory MP for these parts does not count as "haven’t won a single seat in Sheffield in living memory".

Maybe Keith is only 14. Did you think of that?
Mister M Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I was always amused by William Hague's interview with GQ magazine in 2001 when he was Conservative leader & trying desperately to shed his image as a youthful political obsessive Here are Hague's memories: "I was the driver's mate, delivering the bottles and beer around South Yorkshire. We used to have a pint at every stop - well the driver's mate did, not the driver, thankfully - and we used to have about 10 stops in a day. You worked so hard you didn't feel you'd drunk 10 pints by four o'clock, you used to sweat so much. But then you had to lift all the empties off the lorry. It's probably horrifying but we used to do that then go home for tea and then go out in the evening to the pub." When asked, Mr Hague agreed that it may have added up to a total of 14 pints a day. When asked about the Tory politician's drinking abilities Terry Glossop, 47, assistant manager of the Angel, one of Rotherham's oldest pubs, said: "He worked for his father's soft drinks company and was known as Billy Fizz and Billy the Pop. "The idea of him sinking 14 pints is laughable - nobody has seen him round here for years."
WeX Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 oh dear, are the left wing losers getting antsy about how much support the government has? Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. - W. Churchill

Keith's knowledge of political history and current affairs only stretches to what is printed in the "Socialist work". I quoted it before and its very apt when describing just about every labour supporting member here, they are "the creed of ignorance" through and through. Have a discussion with them and they will spout what ever they can copy and paste from wikipedia, but give them evidence proving them wrong or call them on their claims and they skuttle away only to return with the same clap trap a few weeks later.
