SamMc Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I am really interested in trying to teach myself how to D.J and/or mix music and just looking for abit of advice i.e types of laptop/notebook/equipment etc on how to get started. I know it won't be easy or cheap but i have to start somewhere while i'm young and just looking for abit of a new hobbie at the moment as i do take an interest in many types of music also maybe to earn abit of money later on in life. Thanks, Sam.
Norbert Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Try to get a free/cheap/demo version of Ableton Live or Fruityloops (now FL Studio). Then follow tutorials online and in magazines like Computer Music which also comes with a DVD full of free software. Any modern PC or laptop will run these programs and you can use their own built in soundcard until you get serious. If it’s more DJing you’re after then this is free: http://www.mixxx.org/
