Amaranthus Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 One of my work colleagues at work said they were going sit in the house all night with the houselights off to deter trick or treaters. I believe he was serious too, what a prat. Tight get, you can get a massive bag of sweets for about 2 quid.
Amaranthus Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Bit of a 'trick' for them this year as the little scroats come Knocking at Area 51 and a half's door, extracting money with menaces. My tasers are all fully charged and ready to fire straight out of the letterbox at gonad level! But they're all different heights Alco, so you won't be getting everyone's gonads. This is one evil plot you haven't thought through properly. Back to the lair for you methinks.
laineyiow Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I don't mind trick or treaters at all - I remember doing the same as a child. I've even been out and bought some sweets in readiness for them. I've had about 7 different lots come round up to now - most of them youngsters with a parent. I just think its a bit of fun and some of the outfits are quite amazing. May it last eternally!!!
Strix Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I have no objection to it, I just think it should be moved to easter so it's not so damned cold opening the front door three dozen times a night
NorthernStar Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Last year at Halloween I went to visit brother, he has three children and in the area where he lives they have an unwritten rule that you only knock on the doors of people who are displaying lit pumpkin heads on porches and in their front windows. This was great fun going round with them, for both the children and people who wanted to take part whilst enabling the miserable sods to stew in their own juices and not take part. Perhaps Sheffield could take a leaf out of the North Yorkshire Halloween book.
MrSmith Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Its heaps of fun for adults, watching their little faces light up in terror when you frighten the living daylights out of them, and if they don’t run away in terror they even get some sweets. A good night all round. A successful night plenty of terrified kids and all the sweets disappeared.
Flowersfade Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Just had our first lot they were so cute.
AJ sheffield Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I don't mind at all. We've had loads already tonight and they've all been really polite. I've also just had a 7 year old call me sexy as I passed the sweets out... reverse paedo, I feel soiled. very funny
wornout53 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I have had quite a few trick or treaters tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were all polite and excited and the younger ones were all accompanied by either adults or older children. Thank you to them all for a night of fun.....oh and this is in Parson Cross
Strix Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 All that knocked here tonight were fully costumed up and fitted into the category of 'kids' I don't know if it's not cool for teens to be doing trick or treat anymore, or if they sussed that they only get stupid kids sweets here, and you never know if you're going to have to stick your hand in a vat of custard to get them :hihi:
