richarda Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I have used most things, extension tubes, bellows, close up filters but nothing beats a dedicated macro lens. What do you use and why ?
Ryedo40 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Wouldn't mind a dedicated macro (something like a Sigma 150mm), but considering macro is just a now missed hobby for me, and money now being tight, I'm put off with the expense. When I did do macro on the cheap, I used a £45 Raynox DCR 250 on Fuji HS10 bridge camera. For a cheap setup, and having seen worse with some dedicated DSLR lenses, I was quite pleased with the results. johno Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I have the Sigma 105mm 1:2.8 DG Macro on a D700 and D90 i also have a Tamron 90mm 1:2.5 ( which is for sale if anyone wants one ). And i must say Ryedo the photos are very nice well done. Had the insect been placed in your fridge to get the shots as i know a lot of photographers do that. If not i apologise lol
Ryedo40 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Thanks. No need to apologise. All taken in the back garden; handheld except for the spider.
livestrong Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 A macro lens... and in this case a very steady hand. Still not quite there with this one.
KeeleyF Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Ryedo40, I am really impressed with your photos taken with this little addition, Do you know if it would work no my Samsung NX5 Bridge camera the lenses are 58mm would it work and fit on? Any help would be appreciated because i love macro work but cannot afford the macro lens for it as it is nearly £600. Thanks Keeley http://www.flickr.com/photos/52270857@N07/
Ryedo40 Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 The Raynox comes with an 52-67mm universal adapter. So if you can use the screw on filters with your Samsung, the Raynox should work.
Tradescanthia Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 A macro lens... and in this case a very steady hand. Still not quite there with this one. Brilliant mate, stunning !!!!!
Tradescanthia Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I was looking at a Raynox Teleconverter to increase the zoom on my bridge camera by 2.2 times. Are these any good ?? Their macro lense looks superb.
Ryedo40 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Never used one, but I guess they're good. This guy has taken some decent shots with one:
