Fishing at Crookes Valley Park

thank you mate my words exact,same has there is no 30's in there i have had about 3 30lb fish from this country and a good few from abroad.I have seen fish that are in the lower to middle 30lb range in crooks,but some of the anglers on here think if they fished it a few times and not caught them there not in there.pmsl,this year im gonna prove there is a 30 in there gonna hit crooks hard till i at least have the two large commons that ive seen.took me 11 month to prove that the common in plumpers was 30lb but i did that task in october.

 

im not saying that there isnt any 30s in the but my mate goes up there season after season and has caught the majority of the large carp in there and not one of them as touched 30lbs, the biggest one he has caught is known as misty and is identifiable by a mark near its dorsal fin, this is rumoured to be the largest of the carp in there. he has caught this 3 times and the biggest he has caught it at is 28 and half lbs. i suppose in winter this fish will pack on weight and top 30lbs but would be even more difficult to catch in winter.

 

also well done on your plumpers catch!!! i am wanting to get a permit for this stretch as i used to have one when i was younger, i used to get my permit from calcotts or handsworth tackle shops but both have dissappeared so was wondering how you get one these days?????

as far as i'm aware the club that controlled the plumpers stretch has given it up so basically it's now free fishing.
