charmaine79 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 hi does anyone know anyone that can repair nintendo ds screens many thanks
slou Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I took my sons to the PC repair place on Halifax Road last year just before Christmas. After not hearing from them for a few weeks I called to enquire and was told someone would reply to me. I called about another 3 times and got the same and then got a response that the previous company was no more and been replaced by the one that is there now (although they still promised to try and find our DS implying that there was still a link to the previous company). I have never heard a thing and never got the broken DS back. Be wary where you take it for repair!
Dalek Boy Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Which version of the the DS is it? And is it the upper or lower screen?
martss Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I bought an upper screen off eBay and fitted it myself, there's tutorials on YouTube about dismantling and re assembly.
AlexAtkin Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Its always a gamble though fitting your own or at least trying to obtain a good quality replacement. I replaced the screen on my PSP three times because I kept getting ones with dead pixels off eBay. Although I believe the DS screens are higher quality due to being so much smaller, lower resolution so less complicated to manufacture. In the end I had to put up with dust between the backlight and the LCD plus a ton more dust between the plastic cover and the LCD itself. The latter though is due to having to open it up so often, the dust seal no longer works properly.
