Has anyone dealt with / bought from Direct Cars up near Crystal Peaks.

My family have bought a few cars from them. They are certainly better than somewhere like Carcraft but their part-ex prices are a little off in my opinion. I took my car to be valued in a part-ex and they offered £1,400 less than I would get for it in a private sale. I appreciate that I would never get the same in part-ex/private sale but the offer was way off the mark.

 

I always thought these types of dealerships were designed for people who didn't have the cash upfront and needed finance. The cars can be found cheaper elsewhere in almost all cases, but it you don't have the money up front, or even much of a deposit they will do everything they can to sort out some form of finance package for you.

You're right. I went there years ago and said I wanted to buy with cash so what kind of deal would they do, and the salesman was completely honest and said that the place was geared up to supplying cars on finance and doing a PX deal. As I had neither I would probably be better looking elsewhere.

From watching him at the auctions buying cars he is very meticulous about the quality of cars he buys but as he himself once said to someone there asking him about a car "what do you want to buy a car off me for if you have the cash to buy one here".

Too many sales monkies who come and go and don't care about customer service..

There are a lot of better places available than the monkies trying to sell cars at DCs!

I recently bought my car from them recently. I paid cash with a part ex. The price of the car was unbeatable. (I was scanning autotrader for weeks with a national search for the car I wanted with the right spec., age etc. and the car at Direct Cars was the cheapest in the entire country so I cant agree with other comments about finance) The part ex price they offered me was low to be fair but I've sold a few cars in my time and never come away feeling i'd outflanked the dealer, it's just not going to happen. The salesman was professional , not pushy. Overall I cant fault them.

I've also bought from them. The salesmen don't hassle you and their margins on the cars are minimal so won't knock much off for a cash buyer.

I've bought two cars from them in the past. Both were fine cars, and better priced than anywhere else I tried in Sheffield. I'd happily go back.
