janie48 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 so he's under investigation by the police now for alleged racial abuse to anton ferdinand.of course he is denying it.i seem to recall he has denied accusations of a different nature in the past. a role model for football --i think not. england captain in the future.! no further comment.
janie48 Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Who actually thinks they have to be role models in the first place? I'm sure he has never claimed to be one. I also notice the player involved has made no complaint. well somebody must have heard it.otherwise why was it mentioned on itv news. i presume you are a fan. i happen to believe they should be role models.particularly if playing for their country.
HeadingNorth Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 i happen to believe they should be role models.particularly if playing for their country. But there's no logical reason to believe that. The only requirement in order to play football for your country, should be that you're rather good at playing football.

Well said Janie.
janie48 Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Well said Janie. ah well--may not know much about the game, but can have a view about the game players.
Doublesix Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Who actually thinks they have to be role models in the first place? I'm sure he has never claimed to be one. I also notice the player involved has made no complaint. On the contrary someone has certainly made a complaint and Ferdinand is certainly not denying the alleged slur.
HeadingNorth Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 i disagree. But you still don't provide a logical reason to do so.
Bladesman Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I'm not sure what to think regarding this. It was a fan who made the complaint yet Anton neither confirms it or denys it. Considering that some of his fellow team mates are black I am sure they would not of just stood and watched Terry make a racist remark without confronting him there and then.
