Potential Broken Drain

We think we have a potential broken drain in the carpark at work. Part of the tarmac has sunk in between two down pipes and the back wall in the cellar close to one of the drains is wet to touch (but not on the same wall away from the drain).

I believe we will need someone with a camera to inspect the drain and locate the problem and then hopefully fix it. Can anyone recommend a company who can do this who is reliable and know what they are doing? Or has anyone used Metro-rod or dyno-rod and can advise on whether they are worth giving a call??? :help:

Thanks.

Hi Jeffrey, it may be covered on the insurance but I think we need to check that the drain is in fact the problem before contacting our insurance company. I would also need to check if this would be covered as it isn't a residential building and I'm not sure what the excess is (the lady with this info is on holiday this week). If it is a small problem that will take only a few hundred pounds to sort then it might not even be worth going down the insurance route anyway.

Do you know of a company who could help us with this?

speak to yorkshire water...if it is their drain they will check it with camera and do the investigation for you.

if it isnt theirs, they may be able to recommend a local company who undertake such work.

when i had issues with next doors drain it was actually environmental health who came to try and identify the source of the leak- but i dont know if this would be appropriate in your circumstances.

best of luck
