pinkgirl   10 #13 Posted October 24, 2011 I would say the gazette is probably the safe one to go for, my boys used to take it out too, ours is usually delivered on a Saturday morning.
 Share this content via...

MissChatter   10 #16 Posted October 24, 2011 its difficult to find work at such a young age due to health and saftey regulations and things. I use to manage catering part of a sports club to help wait on tables glass collect etc but you can only work a few hours a week. I do understand not wanting a paper round i would not want any child of mine out in the early dark nights and early mornings. Try some of the small cafes for sat work such as those in parks which are run independantly.
 Share this content via...

henrypond   10 #19 Posted October 24, 2011 Anyone got any suggestions for saturday jobs or holiday work for a 14 year old exept a paper round, or anyone know of anywhere looking? Many thanks  Quite a few people warning of H&S rules, hours limits etc, so here's a pointer to the legal side. One to watch out for is the hours limit on a Sunday. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/ParentsRights/DG_4002945
 Share this content via...
aardvark6535   66 #20 Posted October 24, 2011 Kids these days don't know they're born. By the time I was 14 I'd already been working down't pit 10 years. jb  As comic this might sound, I was opperating a 30" ripsaw at 15, left school on the Friday started work on the Monday - Has Pedos become a new invention, because we were never really worried about such things when we were kids and neither were our mothers, we roamed the hills and woodlands all day and never went home untill we were hungry, and this was the time of Ian Brady & Hindly, I had the paper round, I also worked in the local Chip shop and later in the market fish stall - this was a good job, I had the top deck of the bus to myself going home Ha! Ha! but try the market, I can still bone a fish,
 Share this content via...
