Breed advice - who are my people??

As many of you know I have a lovely lab cross called Benji. When we got him he was 4 already and got him from the RSPCA so didn't really know much about the background, but they advised that as Benji has a white star on his chest he was a lab cross collie. I'm sorry but I can't help but disagree - he is HUGE. Everyone says he is the biggest lab they have ever seen, and I was wondering if based on the pictures below if anyone else can hazard a guess as to whom his people are? I can't help but think he has some great dane in, but i'm no expert!

I don't see collie personally (and i do love my collies!)

He does have quite a chunky looking muzzle (no offence!)

To me he looks like a black lab retriever, but that's just my opinion!

(You can always get a DNA done for £60 if you really want to know!)

Ooh, can you actually? I'm so curious!

He does have a big snouty bit, and looking at pictures of lab cross danes there is a striking resemblence, but who knows. All I know is he doesn't have collie in, (like it makes a jot of difference anyway).

Yes, if you just google it you get loads of results.

Simple pack is sent where you swab the mouth and then pack it off to wherever and done!

If you wanted to do it though, i'd make sure it's reputable (feedback or something) and see if they have a good range of breeds that they have on the system. I'd imagine there'd be nothing worse than not getting an accurate enough result because they don't have enough breeds to identify with!

Looks like a labx dane or even labx rotti looking at the shape of his head he is very sweet nice pictures. He has got long legd to hasnt he. We have a labx in ay our rescue at the moment and he is very big to (Long legs) you can have a DNA test done to tell you what breeds are in him dont know how much it costs.

Yeah his legs are very long. His back legs are actually a bit longer than the front - we're expecting a few hip problems when he's older.

I've never thought Rotti though to be honest. I am inclined towards dane purely as I've never seen a lab or collie that size before, seems like a giant compared to other similar breeds!

He's definately got a lab temprement though, daft as a brush (although I've not seen many daft brushes) and everyones best friend - sometimes he'll happily wander off and join in on someone elses walk and he loves a good bum scratch!

I would say he is a pure labrador retriever. Some labs are very big we have had labs for years and he doesn't look oversized for a lab. His white mark is quite common too in labs. Certain lines in labs often throw pups with a white mark on their chest. Hope this helps. He looks lovely.

I agree with the Lab x Dane
