MC Spyda Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 ... is free to play now. Anyone playing it? Thoughts?
PuressenceUK Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Everyone else is playing Batman Arkham Asylum rather than this rubbish. There's a reason they made it free. It's hopeless.
Beakerzoid Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 I played the beta on the PS3, and really enjoyed it. Never subscribed though for a few reasons, the primary one being that I could already see the free-to-play model embedded in it, and was going to await it switching. Plus, with City of Heroes and Champions Online I already had my basic super-hero fix. I will be joining in on the PS3 now (and may subscribe for a month to trophy hunt, and set up a League). Free to play does not mean 'rubbish' or 'failed' - take a look at Lord of the Rings Online. It is the second most popular online MMO at present, and since going free-to-play has become more profitable than when it was subscription based (plus has just had a major expansion in the form of Rise of Isengard). Comparing a fun MMO like DC Universe to Arkham City is akin to comparing Plants Vs Zombies with Resident Evil. They are completely different game-styles.
talktome Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Yes! Any free browser game gets the A-Ok by me (I'm a student, can you tell?) haha DC Universe Online is a FANTASTIC browser game!
