That's a good reply. I frequently am interested in quotations / estimates for a few jobs, but the info is very rarely forthcoming. However your answer expains why.

extensions Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I think it should cost about £ 2000.00 labour , just guessing now
numero uno Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Firstly check on the need for planning usually to the rear you don't need it unless its a conservation area in Sheffield there are 38 of these. Then there is building regulation drawings and submissions. Calculations from a structural engineer for timbers steels etc. beware of Anyone offering to put you a dormer on without the above as you may have a problem when coming to sell your property. Cheers
iahmed Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 The dormer is at the rear of the property. The attic is already opened and has a staircase going up. It had building regulations approval back in 1993 when the work was done. It currently has a skylight, but there is over 3metres of space remaining before the roof reaches guttering at the back. I am wanting to extend by 40 Cubic meters, which you can do as premitted development and want to maximise the height by installing a dormer. I am wanting UPVC cladding and a rough quotes for the external works. I will be having the work done in summer and only want a figure for budgeting purposes at the moment.
