Galaxy S2 is regarded as about the best currently out. I have the Desire and think it's great, the Galaxy is a bit big though for me. If you like the size then get the Galaxy S2, if you want something slightly smaller get what ever replaced the Desire. Might be the sensation.

Or wait a couple of months, Google are releasing the Nexus which will be the most advanced phone around but I imagine it will cost a few quid.

I have a Galaxy S2, and it's great, even better than the Iphone IMO.. Battery life's slightly rubbish, but apparently all "smart" phones have that problem.

Lol ive got to stick to a budget (£160) or my phone in trade. the S2 is too big for my liking.

OK - well for £160 then the Galaxy S is still a good buy - you should get a good 2nd hand one for that.

If you buy a second hand Desire then before you pay for it turn wifi off and 3g on, load Google maps and zoom in and scroll around for a while. That usually stressed mine enough for it to reboot after a few mins. Or get navigation running but that would involve moving about. if it turns off then don't buy it! They had loads of problems with them overheating, they replaced them under warranty but not sure if they would out of warranty. Since they replaced mine it's been absolutely fine and I am sure the ones made since have also been fine, it's just the older ones.

If the desire is too big then they do the Wildfire S
