It's a 40mph road!

Only parts of it;).

Again, it may be there for a reason i.e. the ANPR is better placed there.

Doesn't matter. If they are causing an obstruction then they should move to somewhere safer.

Logical for you maybe. There might be a reason it's parked at that precise location.

And, how did you come to that conclusion? I take it you are an expert in law enforcement.

Not really a waste of police time when they are removing uninsured/untaxed vehicles, arresting unlicenced drivers and recovering stolen property etc. These spot checks are very useful and can be very effective.

One police car parked opposite a police bike with two standing officers all within 200 yards of each other? Then one standing officer further down on their own with another just driving around. Did they really need that much attention all in one spot? Everyone was looking for the accident, which didn't exist obviously.

It takes one officer to spot a speeding car (the van parked further up), one officer to wave it down and one to chase if they try to speed off (which they'd have found hard in queues of traffic anyway). The one at the bottom could show those waved down where to pull in. Job done!

I'm all for them pulling unlawful vehicles off the road (even though I understand why many do it) but there are much more important crimes that they could be dealing with in my opinion.

The part where the speed cameras are, above Lidl, is 40mph :).

no they didnt, i cycled down the path on the pond side and they didnt even blink, and with that many coppers about with their faces covered you would have thought they might have taken the time to explain to me the law regarding riding on a footpath:hihi::hihi:

I've had one tell me to get on the pavement because I was slowing traffic down :hihi:. You can't win can you!

They may be able to park where they want, so why not use the bus stop that's a couple of hundred yards further up? Or park on the side road opposite where they are parked? Why do they have to obstruct the view of another road risking an accident?

Fine they have a job to do and in 14 years of driving I have never had a speeding ticket, fine or even a parking ticket. But can't they at least think logically on occasion?

Well bully for you ! You are either an exemplary member of society who never does anything wrong or you have been extremely lucky - I think the latter.

And what makes you think it's the latter? I was just making the point that, I wasn't having a go due to numerous driving offences.

Well stop it because it's damn annoying :hihi:.

Halifax road is a bad road for it. They all drive down at 40, spot the camera and slow down to 30. It's a 40mph road!

As for Herries, there are too many officers down there (or there were this morning), such a waste of police time when they don't need that amount.

Do you have inside information ? Do you know exActly what all the police personnel were doing on Herries Road ? What a ridiculous thing to say.

Because in the real world there isn't a driver on the roads who can say, hand on heart, that they have NEVER driven over the speed limit, either intentionally or otherwise. I think that you have been extremely lucky and I think you know it.

Motorists should be watching the road, not rubbernecking. It's hardly the police's fault if motorists cannot do this.

It might take one officer to pull over the traffic, one to do the questioning and possibly a car or bike to give chase. What if they wanted to pull over more than one car, what would happen then?

As for your last comment. Pulling vehicles doesn't only deter and remove traffic crimes, it is also a good tool for catching other, more serious offenders. Criminals travel by road, often with stolen items and/or drugs.
