Police bottom of Herries Rd (Hillsb) & parked illegally?

They are also causing traffic to back up causing queues and their presence is likely to cause an accident for two reasons, one, they are all over the junction and people are slamming the brakes on causing a chain reaction. Two, that black van they have parked up illegally is blocking the view for anyone coming up Herries watching for those coming across from Scrathewood (sp?) Road is rage was also an issue this morning when I returned the favour of having to crawl up the road to a police man and drove so slowly (there was only him behind me) that he felt the need to have a rant to himself :hihi:.

Classic do as I say, not as I do attitude unfortunately. Just like parking attendants who were parked in a bus stop, on a busy road, outside a school this week. So many of them just don't care and are happy to break the law when it suits them because they know full well that they can get away with it.

What I don't understand is why do so many drivers, who are doing the speed limit or less already, feel the need to hit the brakes at the sight of a police car or speed camera? Just keep going for christ sake!

I sometimes do this :hihi: it is because ive forgotten what speed limit the road is and think S**t and slow down, then realise im ok, so speed up again

They are on operational duty, therefore they can park where they want. Besides, if they are doing ANPR checks, they will need the van in a strategic location and close by.

Oh, and the only people causing accidents are those you describe in your last paragraph.

Well stop it because it's damn annoying :hihi:.

Halifax road is a bad road for it. They all drive down at 40, spot the camera and slow down to 30. It's a 40mph road!

As for Herries, there are too many officers down there (or there were this morning), such a waste of police time when they don't need that amount.

They may be able to park where they want, so why not use the bus stop that's a couple of hundred yards further up? Or park on the side road opposite where they are parked? Why do they have to obstruct the view of another road risking an accident?

Fine they have a job to do and in 14 years of driving I have never had a speeding ticket, fine or even a parking ticket. But can't they at least think logically on occasion?

Logical for you maybe. There might be a reason it's parked at that precise location.

And, how did you come to that conclusion? I take it you are an expert in law enforcement.

Not really a waste of police time when they are removing uninsured/untaxed vehicles, arresting unlicenced drivers and recovering stolen property etc. These spot checks are very useful and can be very effective.

And very frustraiting when the police park in an anti social manner, blocking the view of road users by their selfish actions.

Again, it may be there for a reason i.e. the ANPR is better placed there. Hardly selfish, they are doing their job.

God, attitudes on this forum never fail to amaze me. Whinge, whinge, whinge about the police not doing enough to eradicate the use of uninsured/untaxed cars and when they do, what happens. Whinge, whinge, whinge!!!

Its very selfish if they make driving even more difficult by selfishly blocking hundreds of roads users view for no other reason than convienience.
