Help my computer - Elonex- is making a strange whirring noise

Not being very technical I don't know why my computer is making a strange whirring noise. Sometimes louder than others! Someone suggested the fan?

Is it likely to give up the ghost? What can I do?

It might just be a case fan that is on its way out. See if you can identify where exactly the noise is coming from. Case fans are easy to replace and are inexpensive.

Power supply Fan, CPU Fan, Case Fan, Hard Drive, Graphic card (if fitted)

Could be any of the above If you open the case you can narrow it down to the area then what it is

open the case up and give it all a good blow inside, its more than likely just blocked up with dust etc
