Any Jeep Mechanics out there?

I own a 2001 4.7 litre auto Jeep Grand cherokee.

It is showing P0700 error code amongst others.

The vehicle from cold starts Ok and drives fine until all of a sudden whilst driving will suddenly act-up and when it does the vehicle will not go above 60mph. At 60mph any more pressure on the throttle pedal causes the vehicle to jerk/rock back and forth.

The strange thing is that when everything is OK and the vehicle is not doing any of this I have noticed that the gear selector light that illuminates the gear selector does not illuminate but as soon as the gearbox acts-up the gear selector light suddenly comes on and illuminates the selector panal. Whilst the problem is like this the vehicle will not travel over 60mph and is very difficult to start the engine once the ignition is turned off. Can take 5 mins of cranking the engine turning the ignition key before the engine will fire up. I initially thought it might be the crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor or throttle position sensor but now wonder if it could be the transmission control module or electronic shifter module?

What do you think could be the problem?

Much appreciated
