daniel3982 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Does anyone else think these are an ugly blight upon the city and that they should be landscaped? They could be a fantastic urban oasis park in the heart of the city instead of a moonscape visible from so many different areas. How about planting some trees and greening it up a bit instead of it being so bleak?

daniel3982 Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 How much would it cost to grass it over and plant a few trees. Lots of grants available for that sort of thing too. Landfill sites shouldn't be in the middle of the city, and particularly shouldn't be in such a visible site.

And even for a number of years after the site finally gets de-commissioned it wont be possible to do much with the place. As for your question of planting some trees and grassing the area. I'd guess that it would cost tens of thousands. There are no grants available for that type of thing either...
