Cannot these 'rentamob' groups be photographed whilst in action and the pictures be scrutinised by DWP to see if all or any are drawing benefits ???? There's only a doler got the time to occupy and if he does then he is not actively seeking work, or available for work. See how many 'working class warriors' would be on the streets then.

John Lewis don't have shares. In fact they're a shining example of good capitalism as each employee is a 'partner' in the company and each one gets a share of the profits every year.

 

That's why it's called the John Lewis Partnership and why they maintain high standards in the stuff they sell and in customer service.

 

I wish more companies were run like this as it's obviously a model that works on all levels.

firstly, the banks have written off 50% of the greek debt.

secondly, the FTSE 100 is up by 2.2% already this morning and it's not even coffeetime.

at least they saved a few bob on the jukebox costs because they dont have music in wetherspoons. i just hope the news 24 channel was on all the teles in the room so they could watch merkel sorting out the greek bailout.

 

they should camp outside wetherspoons, they serve a decent breakfast there. though it might be an alien concept using the toilets in there instead of shop doorways.

The old system just isn't working and seems to have had its day. We need to find new ways of living, new ways of working things out between us: identifying what's important to us. The whole process needs a radical shake-up and unless we get together to discuss and learn together there's little chance of seeing a fairer and more caring society. We need to create spaces for informed argument about economics and social policy: we don't get it via the media or the Commons (which ought to be a centre for all argument but often seems more like a circus - and a distraction).

Occupy Sheffield needs to be somewhere where passers-by can feel included as well as those able to spend more time. Please don't rubbish this proposal before it's even been discussed locally.

 

I can't workout whether the 'occupy' people are deluded, sad, lonely, clueless, daft or just all of them.

 

Let's meet to discuss Occupy Sheffield - where shall we meet, Wetherspoons! The major pub chain which relies on bank funding and is a prime example of capitalism at work. it's like the London people shopping at Tescos and using the Starbucks toilets.

 

These people clearly aren't bright enough to understand the world today. We need big firms but also do need the smaller firms as well. So why don't they spend their time occupying a locally owned coffee shop and improving local business?

I've not looked into their goals, yet.

I didn't pick the venue.

Please provide evidence to the aim of 'smashing capitalism'.
