Chinese toddler run over and ignored by passers by

Having been to China several times, I can't say I'm surprised at this at all. Humans mean nothing, and animals even less than that.

The main "touristy" areas will have you believe everything is fine, but step into the suburbs and there are some shocking sights.

perhaps they could start by cracking down on parents like them who despite having good jobs and much higher than average incomes compared to most Chinese, are too bone idle

Without any knowledge of how the girl got out, you managed to conclude that they're bone idle?

to stop a 2 year old tot from running out on to a busy street in one of the busiest cities in the world, or else too tight to pay for adequate childcare.

And somehow conclude that they didn't have adequate child care...

Are you just trolling, because on this thread, that's sick.

The video shows the child being run over, firstly by the front wheels, then the driver pauses before continuing to run over the child with the back wheels.

I'm only typing this to warn people of what the video contains as watching it without knowing could leave you very disturbed.

I think the reason for that could be the compensation laws in china, as you can end up paying more if you injure someone than if you kill them:roll:

It shocked me to see the peoples in indiference to that kid though, iwas in shanghi and bejing a few months ago and the people I saw seemed to absouloutley worship kids and spoil them rotten.

on the down side I did see a retarded teenager get beaten and pepper sprayed very badly by a cop on a pedestrian subway in beijing ,as for humans meaning nothing to them , i saw local chinese men and women crying in the crowd ,and an old couple maybe his parents trying to stop him ,but he'd lost is temper and he would'nt stop .even though the kid was screaming like a baby.

I was with a young bloke from new jersey (who filmed it )and a girl from the "chinese cultural dept" who cried her eyes out for the rest of the afternoon I just got the feeling most people in the crowd did care and would have stopped the cop if they could but were too scared

A Chinese toddler was run over twice by two vehicles, a total of 18 people walked passed before anyone gave help to the child, There is video footage which has been described as very graphic, how could people just walk past and not offer assistance, what is this world coming to.?

If this has happened in the UK, would any of the 18 people face prosecution.?

I was driving down Bellhouse road a few days back, after 6 I think, when I noticed a young toddler off down the foot path on himself, lovely little Asian lad about 2. At first I thought his parents must be with him but alarm bells rang in my head as I got close to him and reduced my speed just in case.

Good job I did, he walked straight off the curb in front of me (I had slowed down to a virtual stop anyhow though), so I stuck the hazards on and left the car in the middle of the road while I got him home which was an house about 10 doors up.

The front door was still open and there were a load of other really young kids in the hall (maybe having a party ?) so I shouted for the parents and asked if they had lost anything. They were said thanks ect but were just concerned about the youngster and took little notice of me so I just walked off. They were probable thinking 'why has some strange bloke just been stood down our path with our son'.

I would hate to think what would have happened if I did not drive past because there was no other traffic on the road and who knows how far he would have got down the hill, especially as he had walked onto the main road.

Just thought I would share my feel good story with you in light this tragic one.

My friend went to Nigeria a few years ago and said he saw bodies rotting by the side of the road, in ditches, on the steps of buildings because anyone who got involved became liable for funeral expenses.

I watched the video. There are only 2 stories that have ever reduced me to tears: Jamie Bulger and this.

I can honestly say I will never forget it. Could you sink any lower than to walk past a dying toddler bleeding into the gutter? She must have been terrified.

But what I will also say is this: I find myself actually relieved that she has gone. No more pain and suffering. Can you imagine the life she would have if she pulled through? With massive brain damage? I think sadly, it is the kindest outcome.

You could actually see the blood on the road …………….. how can people just walk past that?
