Zepp Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I remember watching that episode. I'm surprised direct bikes are still trading. If I were you I would concentrate on getting my money back. They may have done you a favour by not delivering the bike yet, it will be easier to cancel. Have a good read through the Distance Selling Regulations before you ring or send a cancellation letter. If you do send a letter then send it via recorded delivery.
maryjane Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 oh dear.... that does look bad, I got an email from them today saying they would definately deliver by next week. last week they gave me a tracking code which turned out to mean nothing. thanks all for your info, will keep you posted. x
prog54 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Bought a Direct Bike on 2nd Feb, broke down after 20ft and before registration, after being advised of 4 "authorised service agents" who all refused to repair under terms of warranty I lost faith in safety and quality of product after a condeming engineers report so I asked for my money back. After they refused acceptance and signature on registered letter I took it up with Tesco Credit cards and recieved repayment back dated to 2 Feb through Chargeback system, I could also have used section 75 of the Sales of goods act. They now have 45 days to complain and collect goods otherwise the bike (not that I want it) becomes mine. result.
