taxman   12 #3 Posted October 15, 2011 Raw, like you'd eat a plum or peach.  or this one from Nigel Slater  Or this one.....I have to admit to having a "thing" about aubergines...I've tried treatment and I am a registered aubergine offender but I still have problems. medusa   16 #4 Posted October 15, 2011 My sister's favourite thing to do with fresh figs is to slice them and serve on top of hot toast which is spread with Philadelphia.  I prefer them dried though.
 Share this content via...
Brinny   10 #5 Posted October 17, 2011 Quarter them about 3/4's of the way down and then squeeze the quarters in to purse out the top. Drizzle with a tablespoon of honey and bake in a moderate oven for about 20-25 minutes. Serve with a dollop of creme fresh on top. Or if your feeling really naughty clotted cream. Very yummy.  Brinny
 Share this content via...
suebeedoo   10 #6 Posted October 17, 2011 Quarter them but leave them attached at the base. Put a dollop of soft blue cheese in each one and drizzle with honey. Pop in a moderate oven for 5-10 minutes. Sprinkle with a few chopped walnuts. Devour!
 Share this content via...

BoroughGal   10 #10 Posted October 26, 2011 I love fresh figs! I couldn't find any in Sheffield. Where do you buy them?  Morrisons and Tescos do them.  I love them as they are - raw. Lovely, delicate flavour, a bit perfumy. Eat them skin and all.  They taste a lot nicer than they look - try one.
 Share this content via...

I think there are some wild trees between Meadowhall and the viaduct.
 Share this content via...
