Vague_Boy   10 #61 Posted September 24, 2011 Whether they can get us out of this mess is debatable. They can't simply because no one can. Default is the only way out now.  While Titanic99 is wasting precious time amusing himself with abstracts like party politics I would advise those on here to look to the only group you'll be able rely on when the real crisis hits, namely yourselves.  Politicians won't save you, the government can't (and won't) so you're on your own.  What to do? DYOR (Do Your Own Research).  Good luck!
 Share this content via...
Mecky   10 #62 Posted September 24, 2011 What planet are you on? The economy isn't going to be sorted for a long long time to come yet.   For the UK the problems are compounded by the previous governments incompetance.  The current lot will get my vote until I see some movement in other parties.  For Labour, that means Balls gone, Milliband gone... infact, everyone who was in the last goverment.. gone. Until then, they're unelectable.    It's ironic that you keep saying that, because when I look over past posts, the only people who're behaving like thugs and screaming are people like you with your cam-ruin, slap head & con-dem remarks, with very little else of any substance.  When you don't get your way, you spit out the dummy and resort to calling people trolls.  The reality is that you're more of a thug/bully than the majority of RW posters on here.  Thanks for just underlining everything I've just said. You are wrong on all accounts and you know you are, that's why you're struggling to make any sense and suggest little to move the situation forward. You are just a troll as all your posts have ever pointed out. You're not even a good troll at that.
 Share this content via...
Mr Bojangles   10 #63 Posted September 24, 2011 You've always been a stickler for the basics of written English, well done for taking the baitWell, everybody has their personal standards but it's a hard temptation not to correct somebody who makes basic mistakes when they're trying to be clever; clearly some stickling will help you along. But 'always'?  So the opinions of anyone that uses the wrong word or puts a comma in the wrong place are to be dismissed by the spelling police.  I wonder what these would have to say on the matter.  Political Leaders: Winston Churchill. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. Michael Heseltine. Andrew Jackson. Thomas Jefferson. John F. Kennedy. Gavin Newsom, Mayor of San Francisco. Nelson Rockefeller. Paul Wellstone, U.S. Senator. Woodrow Wilson. George Washington.   Read more: http://www.dyslexia.com/famous.htm#ixzz1Yqzo6F8J
 Share this content via...

Mecky   10 #66 Posted September 24, 2011 Pin a red rosette on a donkey and there are plenty of dullards in Sheffield who will vote for it.  And why not, it would do a better job than any conservative; it would certainly do more work, that's for sure. Big time   10 #68 Posted September 24, 2011 Nothing’s so clear-cut or simple folks (that's why socialism is a failed concept doomed to further failure wherever people try to apply it, but that's another story). Brown's been a Marxist for many years. He and many of the other left wing Labour cronies knew that their key to elected position was to used Blair and the deceptive veneer of 'New Labour' to get back into power as a supposedly moderate party, then get straight back up to their own tricks.  Brown may not have tried to follow the pure tenets of Marxist ideology, but his heart was there and a lot of the damage he did was the fallout of his old core beliefs.  There are countless links to Brown’s Marxist beliefs but here’s a nice right-of-center tabloid article for you to ridicule to your hearts’ contents.   http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/165280  The stand-out part of the article for me was this part:  In its fixation with the expansion of the state machine the Government is strangling the life out of our country. Those with ambition, talent and personal responsibility are no longer welcome in Brown’s Britain. The pen-pushing quangocrats, the box-ticking officials and the baby-breeding welfare junkies are the ones rewarded by Labour.  Even in the dark days of the late Seventies, when Britain ground to a halt because of Labour’s misrule and trade union militancy, the Government was not as bloated as it is today. Public expenditure then accounted for 49 per cent of GDP, before Mrs Thatcher began to roll back the frontiers of the state.  But today, the figure has reached 53 per cent, making Britain one of the most tax dependent, least enterprising countries in the western world.  So true
 Share this content via...

Mr Bojangles   10 #72 Posted September 24, 2011 Do you have evidence that they don't?I think it's reasonable and traditional to ask the accuser to provide evidence, not the defender. From what I've seen in the media, it's usually Labour MPs who are on the list of non-attendees at Parliament, far more so than Tories. As for evidence, my guess is you have none.
