I have a feeling if the last lot were stil in we would have gone the way of Greece and Ireland by now.

Because of course, our economy is so similar to the Greek and Irish economies!

our situation was

Greece public balance 2010 = -10.5%

UK public balance 2010 = -10.4%

Thankfully the talk of the UK losing its AAA credit rating ceased not long after Labour were booted out of office. Now the focus is on other countries who are not dealing with their debts.

Nothing’s so clear-cut or simple folks (that's why socialism is a failed concept doomed to further failure wherever people try to apply it, but that's another story).

Brown's been a Marxist for many years. He and many of the other left wing Labour cronies knew that their key to elected position was to used Blair and the deceptive veneer of 'New Labour' to get back into power as a supposedly moderate party, then get straight back up to their own tricks.

Brown may not have tried to follow the pure tenets of Marxist ideology, but his heart was there and a lot of the damage he did was the fallout of his old core beliefs.

There are countless links to Brown’s Marxist beliefs but here’s a nice right-of-center tabloid article for you to ridicule to your hearts’ contents.

I have far far more confidence in this government than the previous one.

Whether they can get us out of this mess is debatable.

Unfortunately they were left a disasterous legacy of malfeasance, overspend and debt.

They have enough time to sort out the economy but they're trying to admit they can't but they won't just come straight out and say that. They are just trying to pass it off lightly because they want our votes. Since they are now in power and can't get us out of it, we'll soon be in recession again BTW, it is no longer the government's fault but a global problem and it out of their hands. The worrying thing is, people are actually thick enough to believe that bull.

And of course it's always the RW thugs on here which are most aggressive and vocal. You can look back over past threads to see that.

And a few of his cabinet, including Alistair Darling who most supported the British section of the Trotskyist Fourth International. Many other members of the Labour party dabbled in either Marxism or Communism in their earlier lives.

If that is the case, can you name one country that was also hit by the recent worldwide economic breakdown, that are doing much better than the UK?

Germany for one. In fact in economic growth in Europe the UK in 20th position of the 22 countries. Only Greece and Portugal are worse off.
