Keith Rich 10 #829 Posted November 2, 2011 No, the malfeasance started long before the credit crisis. And your evidence for this is...?
 Share this content via...
Magilla 510 #830 Posted November 2, 2011 And your evidence for this is...? Oh you know, little things, like selling gold at the lowest prices ever. There's plenty about if you bother to look. Don't worry I know you won't bother, and even if you did, you'd claim black was white if it suited you. A bit like your "in living memory" statement in your Tory bashing thread, utterly devoid of reality.
 Share this content via...

Keith Rich 10 #833 Posted November 2, 2011 How are poor people being made to pay? Controlling the runaway benefits free-for-all is hardly the same as reducing benfits for those who truly need them. That would be anybody who voted the last Labour government in then. They caused the country's financial problems by empowering Labour to screw everything up. Good old Conrad, always depend on him to trot out this ancient chestnut. Well it is easier than looking at the actual facts isn’t it? By the way Churchill also said this: Churchill claimed that "the cause of the Liberal Party is the cause of the left-out millions," and attacked the Conservatives as "the Party of the rich against the poor. The Real Churchill, by Adam Young (2004). The party of the rich…now where have we heard that before? Oh yes from me on this Forum…No no need to applaud. Knowing that I was once again right is reward enough.
 Share this content via...

So called after the one eyed oaf created the lowest price in the gold market for more than 20 years. http://www.terrysmithblog.com/straight-talking/2011/08/the-brown-bottom.html With the gold price hitting new nominal highs I thought it was a good moment to remind ourselves about the consequences of Gordon Brown’s sale of much of the UK’s gold reserves. In 1999-2002 he sold 395 metric tons of gold at an average price of $275 an ounce. Today the price stands at $1749 an ounce. No wonder Brown’s sale on the gold price charts is known as The Brown Bottom. He also gave notice to the market that the sales would take place, thereby giving market participants every opportunity to drive the price down in advance. Knowing that I was once again right is reward enough. Churchill back in 1909, before he left the Liberal Party and joined the conservatives. So if he believed what he said, things must have changed before he joined, thus your argument is completely scuppered by your own words. Either Churchill was a fraud or the conservative party where not the same years later when he joined them. Which of the above do you believe Keith? All this from the very same Churchill who said: “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
 Share this content via...

Knowing that I was once again right is reward enough. I'll let you know when you're right about something, you can be assured. Churchill, like many others, grew out of such silly views. Many youngsters and students start life with a left wing head on, but as they go through life and gain experience and a little wisdom, they see sense and their views become increasingly conservative. Some fail to go through that process of the intellectual maturity and enlightenment - I often wonder how confusing the world must be for people who remain so profoundly devoid of wisdom. Anna B 1,414 #840 Posted November 2, 2011 Can we all agree on one thing? 99% of politicians of all political parties are rubbish at their jobs, and have been for a very long time. Which is why we're in the mess we're in.
 Share this content via...
