PRE FIGHT INTERVIEW:

The AFK SUPERLEAGUE Interview Ant "Superman" Stuchbury.

AFK-SL = Anthony , I hear you are headlining the AFK Superleague. How do you feel about it

Ant= Yes I am defending my ISKA Northern Area Title.

Im really excited, the AFK Superleague is a great concept. AFK shows started out as just normal club shows which were small but they had a great atmosphere. Now the shows still have that electric atmosphere but they are much bigger. The best thing about it is now you get every style on there and we even get fighters from Karate and Taekwondo fighting on the shows.

AFK-SL= What is your record now ?

Ant = I have had 7 fights now, and i Knocked out 4 of them in the 1st round. Out of my losses one of them was to Duane Green who is the IKF English and 4 Nations Champion.

AFK-SL= What do you know about your opponent?

Ant= Hes bloody tall and awkward! (peals of laughter). Hes also very tough from what I have seen but he hasnt been hit by me yet,........

AFK-SL = What is your prediction ?

Ant = (Short pause looking at me like im on something) Are you serious???

Im going to stop him of course! Maybe not Round 1 but I'm not leaving it to the judges.

Ant= Get your tickets off me !!!

Get yourself ringside so you can see me notch up another Knockout win!!!

PRE FIGHT INTERVIEW:

AFK SUPERLEAGUE Interviews Neil "Slinky" Burgoyne

AFK-SL = You are Fighting on the AFK Superleague on November the 19th , what are your thoughts on that?

NB= When I first bought a ticket for the AFK Superleague I never thought in my wildest dreams that a year later I would be challenging for a Title on the same show. I love the concept , the atmosphere is great and its a good Mix of K-1 , Kickboxing and MMA all on the same show. What really impressed me though was how the crowd appreciates the efforts of both fighters no matter where they come from and the respect between the Fighters after the contest is second to none.

AFK-SL =What is your current record?

NB= I have had 5 fights out of which I have won 3 , but out of the 3 I have won , I have scored a Knockdown in each one.

AFK-SL = A bit tall arent you mate?

NB= I am 6'5" and built like a stick insect. It just makes smaller guys want to hunt me down and close the distance!

AFK-SL= What do you know about your opponent?

NB= He is heavy handed and has very powerful Kicks. I am aware that I am going to be hit harder than I ever have been but thats all part and parcel of my development as a fighter. I am not turning up to be a runner up!

AFK-SL= What is your prediction?

NB= Its going to be survival of the Fittest!!! Ant is going to hit me harder than I have ever been hit before and Im going to be there right till the bell still asking for more!

INTERVIEW with DR Andrew Carr

AFK-SL= I hear you are due to appear on the AFK SUPERLEAGUE on the 19th of November this year. What is your view on the Superleague in General?

DR Carr =

The superleague has grown and grown and it's success speaks for itself. I remember fighting on the shows when it was AFK 1st blood and since then fighters have seen how the crowd gets behind them, are respectful and how the place packs out! One of the most important things about Superleague is that you can trust the match ups are fair. No-one wants to be thrown in as cannon fodder and it's no victory for a fighter to win a poorly matched fight. It adds to the enjoyment for the crowd when it can go either way and each fighter is giving their all.

AFK- SL = Your fight is to be the 1st ever White Collar Kickboxing bout? Can you explain what is meant by that please?

Dr Carr= A white collar fight is a match up between two fighters who from Monday to Friday have professional jobs. Everyone knows me as DrAndrew so that speaks for itself and Rob, my opponent, is also a medic so there will be no shortage of first aiders in the ring on the night if needed! After my first fight I was intervied by a local paper who wrote "he fixes people through the week then busts them at at weekends

AFK-SL .I hear that you run your own clinic? What is it you specialise in and what services do you offer?

Dr Carr = In 1999 I started "Carr Clinic Group" and we provide treatment for mechanical injuries (back pain, neck pain, sciatica, sports injuries etc) through our Chiropractic Clinics in Middlewood and Chapeltown. More recently we have started to provide facial aesthetic care (basically getting rid of wrinkles using Botox and dermal filler). The most significant addition to our business was the opening of our Botox Clinic on Harley Street in London this year. You can check everything out on http://www.AestheticsOnHarleyStreet.co.uk

I am also happy to offer fighters a free initial consultation if the mention AFK Superleague when booking for treatment for any injuries.

AFK-SL . Youre are matched against Rob Moore from AFK , what do you know about your opponent and his camp?

Dr Carr= I don't know too much about Rob except that he is a good technical striker with both his hands and his kicks and that he is training like a maniac at the moment! He is from a successful camp, AFK, which has produced some quality fighters and some champions so I know not to take him lightly!

AFK-SL. What is your total fight experience.

Dr Carr . I've had 7 fights so far, 4 at interclub level. My first fight I remember the guy ringing me up the week of the fight telling me how he was going to beat me and how I wouldn't believe how high he could get his knees and kicks.....needless to say it was my hand the ref lifted as the winner at the end of the fight! Respect to him though, pre fight trash talk is just part of the game for some fighters! Second fight I faced a much larger opponent and I scored a knock down in 6 seconds! There is no feeling like winning a fight, when the ref lifts your arm you feel on top of the world.....and it's a feeling I intend to experience again in November!

AFK-SL. I take it you have been training hard for this fight?

Dr Carr =

Really hard! I'm training every day; weights, cardio and plenty of bag work and sparring. The coaches at SDF are amazing and all of them are champions headed by Paul Powers. Alex Mckenzie has been WAKO British champion at 2 weight , Joe Mcgovan is also WAKO British Champion and Shane Beard has also been a champion with another association so I'm learning from the best. I've even had 2 heavy tractor tyres delivered to my home so you'll often see me flipping them up and down a 30m track I have marked out and then taking the sledgehammer to them. It's more tiring than it looks but I love it! Train Hard, fight Easy!

AFK-SL , Do you have a Prediction as yet?

Dr Carr .

Predictions? Seriously?!!!! I'm going to win! I have no bad feelings towards Rob and respect him as a fighter but no-one goes in to a fight to come second do they?! I'm sure Rob will be saying exactly the same thing about him winning but I am so mentally focused and training is going so well that in my mind there is simply no way I can lose! One thing is for sure, it's going to be a battle!

great interview

Thanks mate. Will you be making an appearance (in the crowd that is) ?

The good thing about this interview is that it gives both the novice fighters the chance to potentially project themselves like superstars :)

Im looking forward to my fight with Ant, but i dont mind admitting that facing someone with a habit of k.o'ing people in round 1 is giving me sleepless nights already! but i'm determined not to join that particular set of stats!
