where would i find the records of in patients of the old fir vale infirmary/mental hospital?

I was told the workhouse records were burnt as a result of a German bombing raid on the building where they were stored on Infirmary Road.

 

If this is true maybe the other records from Fir Vale were lost.

 

Does anyone out there have any details?

They sell the book at St Lukes Hospice shop at Chapeltown, perhaps in other St Lukes shops as well?

I asked Sheff Archives for info about Fir Vale Workhouse and was told they had all been destroyed in the war. I`ve come to a standstill on that part of my family tree.
