Dozens of satellites pass over every day but the ISS is much bigger and brighter than those.

Hundreds! And the ISS is also much, much lower than all of them. When it passes overhead, it's closer than Haverfordwest.

We rushed out to watch it go by on Sunday night, got some long exposure pictures of it tracking across the sky, it was brilliant :)

There is a good website called isstracker.com. It shows exactly where the ISS is and also shows it's next few orbit paths.

It was ace! Thought it was a plane at first. I didn't expect it to be so bright. Thanks to the OP for reminding me. I've been following it's course on the NASA iPhone app for ages but never got round to looking for it!

Anyone that has an android phone with GPS can get a free app called Satellite AR. Shows you where all the satellites are by holding your phone up to the sky. Awesome!
