Tess   10 #15 Posted August 11, 2011 York is lovely with lots to do in the day but if you are wanting proper nightclubby nightlife maybe not the best. Edinburgh is the same but on a bigger scale. I'd go to either any day though, such beautiful places.
 Share this content via...

altyfc   10 #19 Posted August 11, 2011 Bit busier (out of season) than Windermere due its local population... how about http://www.kendalcottages.com ?  Mostly booked up, though. ironforyou   10 #23 Posted August 11, 2011 Why don't you go for a good night out in Leeds and stay in the Travelodge there, (nightlife is great in Leeds) then head further up to Scarborough for a nice romantic evening?
 Share this content via...
GrannyGranny   10 #24 Posted August 11, 2011 I can recommend Lincoln. Good nightlife, lots to see in the day. Good shops and places to eat down by the Brayford. Only 1 1/2 hrs away as well.  And in my experience York has a good nightlife. Can be 'lively' at times but definately not lacking in places to go.  We had a great weekend in Liverpool a few years ago with the kids. Loads to see and do and nightlife is very good.
