Rageness   10 #14 Posted August 12, 2011 Went to Loch fyne last night, Had the crab platter, Was considering hte lobster 1 but £10 extra for half a Lobster seamed rather unreasonable considering the size. The meal was ok at best...  Starter consisted of shared oysters and garlic prawns, Prawns were over cooked as was the scallops for main. The crab with the platter seems to be missing half its insides and I don't mean the bits you should not eat. Not sure who thought smoked cold prawns were a good idea and to top it all off I had a major session in the bathroom later that evening.  The service was good, the bread with oil and vinegar was very nice and the sauce the mussels were in was quite nice too, but at over £135 I won't be rushing back. pete_jim   10 #15 Posted August 13, 2011 If it's on the menu got to the 3acres near Huddersfield, fabulous.  As for Loch Fyne well what can you say after the reviews on this thread? We went just after it opened and I thought then that a specialist fish restaurant should be able to cook fish properly (three fish dishes - all mediocre at best), never been back.
