AJ sheffield   11 #13 Posted August 6, 2011 Phoned the insurance company up today and told them I didn't appear on ASKMID so she checked my policy number and told me I have been driving around without insurance, the bloke I talked to a couple of weeks ago when I phoned to change the cars over had not amended the cover so I was still insured for my old car. The woman I spoke to said if I had been involved in an accident then they would have sorted it for me, not sure if they really would have though. Moosey   10 #14 Posted August 6, 2011 Some policies don't appear on AskMID, or the more thorough MIDIS database (the one we and the police use). Normally trade policies, or cars where there is more than one potential insurer.
 Share this content via...
mafya   248 #15 Posted August 6, 2011 Actually, if you have the details of your insurer on you they will usually ring them then and there, whilst at the roadside. edit: see post below  In the daytime they can ring them up but not at nights or holidays.
