Seriously please don`t anyone complain about their broadband unless you have lived in stannington.Complete utter bs.

Modem Status Connected

DownStream Connection Speed 1088 kbps

UpStream Connection Speed 448 kbps

Connection Speed 1088 kbps 448 kbps

Line Attenuation 60.0 db 31.5 db

Noise Margin 13.1 db 19.0 db

This is after testing at the master socket and numerous phone calls to ISP.Just tell me its max the line can handle constantly.Tries resyncing lots of times and leaving the router on to stabilize it at the exchange. The funny thing is every now and then the speed jumps to over 2 meg and then straight back down the next time the router is rebooted.

Just cannot wait to get on fibre.

By the way this is AOHell.Avoid like the plague.

not necessarily, they might be provisioned at a certain speed by thier ISP, thier isp might not have or be using LLU, (which would improve it a little) they also might not be on DSL2/2+ which would also improve the speed.

You're on Wadsley Bridge exchange too, It's just too far away from places like Walkley and Stannington.

We had some friends who lived in Upperthorpe, who would have been miles closer to the Ranmoor exchange, but were connected to Wadsley Bridge.

They got less than 1Mb.

Here's my stats:

ADSL Firmware Version A2pB026.d20e

Modem Status Connected

DownStream Connection Speed 4541 kbps

UpStream Connection Speed 1053 kbps

------

Connection Speed 4541 kbps 1053 kbps

Line Attenuation 60.5 db 33.9 db

Noise Margin 2.9 db 2.7 db

It looks like you've got a Netgear, what model number? Is your line stable?

I might be able to make a significant improvement to your connection.

You're also only on the "up to 8mb" package, you can tell by the 448k upstream.

They say they're on up to 20mb, and with Sky, so that will be LLU.

O2 practically use the same gear, so the speeds will be the same.
