THHvMMH Â Â 10 #13 Posted July 19, 2011 Thanks Taxman and Alcresearch! You've just managed to waste well over an hour of my time by watching your links (and other bits). I'd completely forgotten about KLF ... they were pretty good weren't they! In the back of my addled mind, I seem to remember an interview with Dolly Parton who said she'd no idea who the KLF were and was puzzled as to why she'd been asked to sing 'They're justified and ancient and they drive an ice cream van' ... bit different to her normal stuff! Â Wasn't it Tammy Wynette who sang on that ?
 Share this content via...

Alcoblog   10 #16 Posted July 19, 2011 Wasn't it Tammy Wynette who sang on that ? Ooops! ... Yeah! I'm not really into that sort of music (country).
 Share this content via...
LeMaquis   10 #17 Posted July 19, 2011 Ooops! ... Yeah! I'm not really into that sort of music (country).  The lyrics have the line "Can you stand by the JAMS?" which was a play on words on "Stand By Your Man", Wynette's big hit in the 70s. Even people who hate country music as intensely as I do have heard that one far too many times. Drummond used to run Zoo Records who released Echo and the Bunnymen's early stuff. The Bunnymen played Tramlines last year or the year before so Drummond may turn up this year yet.
 Share this content via...

Paddy   10 #19 Posted July 19, 2011 All bound for Mu Mu land! He's reforming the KLF for a one night only show at the Tramlines Festival and is going to play all their hits back to back.  (If only this was true)  I was only joking when I wrote this but after some further digging around on google I've found this article:  http://www.screenyorkshire.co.uk/news/news-archive/sensoria-festival-takes-to-the-streets-in-2011  Many a true word spoken in jest? Mandem   13 #20 Posted July 19, 2011 This explains it. http://www.reelfestivals.org/bill-drummond-the17-in-beirut/  Just had a look at the link, and the bit about the music disappearing is also daubbed in white paint on a black pipe across the underside of Norfolk Bridge.
