muddyasblood   10 #1 Posted July 11, 2011 I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D laptop, and it has always served me well. The other day the power adapter got accidentally yanked out and now the socket inside seems to have come away from the motherboard.  My research has told me that this is normally fairly straight forward to fix with a soldering iron, I'm just looking for pointers towards anyone in Sheffield who might be able to help me with this! Grandad.Malky   11 #2 Posted July 11, 2011 The problem is the hours of labour to take it all to bits to gain access; luckily mine was still under warranty, sounds like a common problem.
 Share this content via...
muddyasblood   10 #3 Posted July 11, 2011 Thanks. I've had mine well over two years now, so I doubt it's still under warranty... just looking for a recommended repairer really, but if I can't find someone on here I know someone in Nottingham anyway. AJ sheffield   11 #5 Posted July 11, 2011 It is a 25 minute job if you follow this guide like I did for repairing my daughters laptop. Replace the dc socket with one that has an external locking ring and it will never give you any more problems.
 Share this content via...
megalithic   10 #6 Posted July 11, 2011 I don't know Neeeeeek personally, never met him, and besides him being a long standing SF member i've seen many reports of him doing just this type of job to the customers satisfaction. If i had this problem he'd be my first call of port.
 Share this content via...

megalithic   10 #12 Posted July 11, 2011 (edited) I'm capable on the pc build front but the other lot might take some mastering  Knapping an arrowhead is so simple, just like soldering, i can even make one from the bottom of a wine bottle, if need be.
