catdoors   10 #1 Posted July 10, 2011 Hi I run a small pub-fishing club (18 members) and I would like to book some carp lakes for next year. I would like some venue that have lots of big carp in them as we all ways seem to only catch silver fish plus the odd carp, tench, etc. we are willing to travel about 30/40 mile from Sheffield. Any info on good fisheries would be a great help
 Share this content via...

charliewag   19 #3 Posted July 10, 2011 there are more of these waters than any other in the 30/40 mile radius you are willing to travel. lindholme, bank end, riverside, ranskill, clearwater, hayfield, candy corner, kjs, kiveton etc. i gave up being the match organiser for my club (40+ members) because all they wanted to fish was carp 'puddles'. fishing a river or a water with no carp was too much like hard work. sheff 13 Â Â 10 #4 Posted July 11, 2011 I have to agree charliewag it seems most anglers have Carpitis, I don't understand the mentality of some. But as they say you pays your money & all that. I know they pay their money & are entitled to go whichever way chose, but in my opinion they miss out on a lot of sport by fishing far too heavy in case they catch a big fish.
