Is There Any Genuine Gents Barbers Left In Sheffield?

Recommended Posts

Sick of all these trendy hairdresser's who have no concept of cutting a mans hair. Either women (who cannot cut a mans hair in a just and proper fine manner) or just over priced trendy gonadic berks. Opines?

There's a very traditional gent's barbers at Hunters Bar, G R Dewsbury. I've never been in myself, but it's been there forever so he must be doing something right.

It's next to the Boots on Neill Road, here's a picture of it on Google Streetview:

My partner uses babylons at firth park and they have won a best barber award. They are perfectionists and make sure every hair is in place. You have to get there early as its always packed out and operates on a first come first served basis. They are great and my fella is happy with them and he is very funny about his hair lol. Even travelled to his old barber down south till we found this one hehe x

I used to go there '83 up to around '87 - back then it was called 'Coulsons' - I think the name changed in the last ten years or so - a traditional barber as Nagel says.

I'd recommend them as well. After my barber, Paul Butler at Ranmoor retired, I hunted around for a traditional barber and eventually found this one. Excellent! And as an added bonus, who's now working there on Tuesdays and saturdays, but Paul Butler!

Have you tried Savilles on Chapel Walk in town, not the cheapest at £16.50 for a gents cut but I swear by them. you can even get a traditional shave with a straight razor by appointment.
