Tripitaka   10 #1 Posted July 7, 2011 Just a warning to people wanting to purchase and pick up tickets at the train station that it is completely flooded and all taped off and so difficult to buy tickets, as all the ticket machines seem to be cordoned off etc as well and probably flooded/damaged.  Probably best to call up and see whether tickets will be available to buy etc...  Plus does anyone know what happened as there was bucket loads of water all over where the ticket office is located. LeMaquis   10 #4 Posted July 7, 2011 People can buy tickets on the trains from the conductors. Make sure they're giving the discount that's usually only available if you buy before boarding. The conductor should know what's happened. Should.
 Share this content via...
fake   10 #5 Posted July 7, 2011 hi there is a burst water mains in the booking office area, tickets can be purchased off the revenue officers.   Ah, I though it may have been the giant stainless steel urinal outside overflowing. HeadingNorth   11 #8 Posted July 7, 2011 At least it isn't the river culverts being blocked again ... Sheffield station was closed entirely for about three months, when that happened.
 Share this content via...
pushtotalk   10 #9 Posted July 7, 2011 It's returning to normal. The ticket machines are now back in service and there are lots of staff available to assist. The ticket office is still closed though. As already stated, a water main burst in the night and I believe has caused significant damage to the ticket office. Much of the station has no water hence toilets closed. GerryFirkins   10 #11 Posted July 7, 2011 They had a water-pipe burst in the floor affecting the ticket office. They've been drilling holes in the floor to find the leak, which they appear to have solved by 6 today.
 Share this content via...
