Help on new Desktop plz!!

Recommended Posts

I am thinking about getting a new Dell XPS 7100 desktop.

Processor AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (2.80GHz, 512kx6)

Operating System Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Memory1 4GB1 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz

Hard Drive 1000GB2 SATA hard drive (7200RPM)

Video Card 1GB ATI® Radeon™ HD 6670 graphics card with Vision Ultimate label

I am wanting to play games but not the top titles. Would be wanting to play the latest world of warcraft.

Does anybody know if this spec computer will do the job and is the gpu ok for it.

Thanks for all your help!

As far as I know WOW is not as hardware intensive as other such games so I'd say yes.

It being a desktop you can always upgrade the GFX card if necessary.

Should be fine for gaming and should play most games with high settings and at a decent resolution

I think that graphics card will struggle at the native resolution of an HD TV. I'd want something a bit beefier and with more RAM. Rest of the setup looks ok tho

^^^^^^

Yeah,i had one once, the 420 i think, had to turn the telly up so the missus could watch emmerdale(admittedly,i preferred the sound of the machine but thats a different story!),eventually i bit the bullet and admitted defeat(after trying numerous things to quieten it down) and finally built my own machine-quad core etc....needless to say,the missus is happy and i now have to suffer the sounds of the Woolpack regulars slurping their pints!!!
