JanPud 10 #1 Posted June 7, 2011 Hi All, We recently acquired some very old MAD Comics from my father-in-law and wondered if anyone on SF knows of a good place to sell them or get them valued? I think they're only worth about £2-£5 each but not sure (maybe completely wrong). Thanks All, Jan
 Share this content via...
Dingdongbell 10 #2 Posted June 7, 2011 I guess you'd probably get the best price in the States so you could try ebay and offer postage to the US?
 Share this content via...

Annina 11 #4 Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) There is a shop on Pinstone St that deals in old comics, perhaps they will buy them. Apologies,it is Shorham St at the back of SU football ground. I don't know why I always get those names mixed up. Edited June 8, 2011 by Annina Wrong road quoted.
 Share this content via...

LeMaquis 10 #7 Posted June 7, 2011 I wouldn't sell them to a dealer until you've done your homework. Things like that may be worth a bit. Visit a few shops or look online and see what prices ae being asked for similar issues. The older they are the more they're probably worth but take into account condition as well. Just keep looking till you have some prices for those issues or ones from the same period but don't sell till you know. Dealers will only give you a fraction of what they're worth. Don't sell them to a dealer until you know what price to expect, look online, see how much they sell for on ebay etc, if a dealer knows you've not got a clue about the price u could lose out a lot! PapaLazarou 747 #10 Posted June 7, 2011 Definitely go for Ebay. This should give you something like current market price. Forget dealers. Why let them take the bulk of the margin? Good luck....
 Share this content via...
Where? 10 #11 Posted June 7, 2011 There is a specialist comic/magazine shop in Chesterfield that trades in such items. It is just opposite the cinema/almar leisure park just at the end of the bypass. Sorry I don't know the name of the shop, but you should be able to find them on Yell or similar.
 Share this content via...
