go4it   10 #49 Posted September 13, 2011 There you go again with your codswollop again! kidS rarely get misdiagnosed with ASD!! (ADHD maybe, but as this thread isn't about ADHD maybe we should stay on topic?). Its a HUGE spectrum and some will be more impaired than others, you cant be just a little bit autistic! or even mildly autistic! and get a diagnosis, either you either have the triad of impairments and the person/child meets the criteria for diagnosis or they dont!. For misdiagnosis 3!!! highly qualified medical professionalS would have to be wrong!! and the boxes were never actually ticked in the first place!! or are you saying that its easy to manipulate 3 professional people? whom are trained to work under stressful high pressure situations.  No it's not codswallop. There are many 'we cure autism' companies out there. How do they cure autism? The child was never autistic in the first place - there were environmental factors causing the behaviours. Or would you rather believe that these people cure autism? Because they are people out there doing good work and getting good results. stripes   10 #50 Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) I would like to note that this thread is about schools failing children with ASD, not assumptions about parents or doctors based on hearsay from individuals who have had no personal experience/knowledge/evidence of ASD  Thank you for everyone’s PM of support.  Take a look at how schools in England are failing 20.000 children with Autism:  http://www.ambitiousaboutautism.org.uk/lib/liDownload/236/Schools%20in%20England%20are%20failing%2020,000%20children%20with%20autism.pdf?CFID=348493&CFTOKEN=65435197 Edited September 13, 2011 by stripes spelling mistake
 Share this content via...
tb2311 Â Â 10 #51 Posted September 17, 2011 As a perent with a long awaited diagnosis of aspergus, i have to agree with ChezzFaye.. A child with an ASD needs alot of care and attention in most ascepts of life. To have a sterotypically "normal" child far out weighs the money. Â The problem with people labeling them as naughty children is the lack of education when it comes to ASD. Â If some one is in a wheel chair you see straight away there disability. It is harder to see a mental disorder
 Share this content via...
