...which makes me wonder whether programs such as "Police Interceptors" (other Police chase programs are available) encourage some young kids (and older kids) to try an initiate a chase. Could these programs make the problem worse?

 

I still find the programs compulsive viewing. :blush:

Perhaps the police helicopter should be replaced with a more efficient model.

Once the kids on mopeds realise they are likely to get a hellfire up the arse (overkill, but spectacular) the aircraft wouldn't spend much time chasing 'funky moped'.
