SHsheff   10 #13 Posted November 20, 2005 I thought I read that he'd written the words specially for the event?
 Share this content via...
clogginchris   10 #14 Posted November 20, 2005 I think it's great that this poem has been put on the side of this buidling - time we had more public art in sheffield
 Share this content via...
Tim42 Â Â 10 #15 Posted November 21, 2005 What an utterly rubbish, banal, childish embarassing load of c**p. Do the students of these flats really want to associate themselves with this crummy ''sixth form'' type of kids poetry?
 Share this content via...

Stargazer8 Â Â 10 #19 Posted November 22, 2005 Yeah I love it too. I think it's great. There's art in simplicity. Â It was just a guess about it being a Pulp song by the way.
 Share this content via...
lexatron   10 #20 Posted November 22, 2005 It was written specifically for this building, yes.  I like it. I'd rather live in that place than somewhere with boring white walls that's as forgettable as it is boring.  Though maybe the people who commissioned the 'poetry on buildings' idea should consider some more 'conventional' poetry. It may please more people...
 Share this content via...
absynthfairy   10 #21 Posted November 22, 2005 Kinda sums student life does it not? Ocasionally deep but more often than not made less meaningful with the introduction of alcohol?
 Share this content via...
miniminch   10 #22 Posted December 4, 2005 Driving up London rd half asleep I noticed a building on my right with a Jarvis Cocker lyric in six foot writing. Dear Lord tell me I was not dreaming. Tell me that the council have actually realised that putting stuff/ graffiti on the side of buildings is cool. Hopefully this will encourage more to go out and express themselves!  What does it say and where is it from?
 Share this content via...

miniminch   10 #24 Posted December 4, 2005 Soz did a search and it turned up nowt!! Found it now it goes  "Within these walls the future may be being forged. Or maybe Jez is getting trashed on cider. But when you melt you become the shape of your surroundings. Your horizons become wider. Don't they teach you no brains at that school?"  How cool is that??
