Paypal Customer Services, Dublin - Brilliant.

Just a little bit of praise for the PayPal support team in Dublin.

 

Had problems with a now obsolete paypal payment address (I had forgotten the password and security question 2 answer). Everything I tried resulted in a redirect to the "enter security questions" page.

 

Tried the "08707" number, but just kept getting re-directed. Then tried the Dublin number.

 

Less than five minutes on the phone (mostly me answering various questions), and the account password had been reset, emailed and confirmed.

 

Thought I'd say something nice about paypal, seeing as how I have slated them in the past.

I had a similar experience a couple of years back, old Paypal email address, forgot the password, couldn't retrieve it through normal channels, rang 'em up several times and they couldn't help me, then I finally rang up about 2 years ago and got it sorted.

 

I used to despise Paypal before, now I use it loads (too much probably, hence my Bank statement! )

Wow, they were no way near as helpful for me! Luckily I managed to revive my old email address and get my password reset.

After five minutes confirming everything within the account (name, address, phone no, other email linked to the account. BTW, they didn't give me the password. They sent an email with a link, which you have to click then enter a code which they read out to you. You then have to reset the password. At no point did they "give out any passwords".
