I watch WWE and occassionally TNA wrestling, I admire the work they put into the matches, yes I know it's all pre-determined who's going to win etc but the matches are still enjoyable to watch, unless it's a women's match, the "Divas" in WWE are OK to look at but a lot of them couldn't wrestle their way out of a WalMart carrier bag.

It's no dafter than most soap operas - in both cases, the scriptwriters and players know in advance what's going to happen, but the viewer does not.

 

And a lot of people prefer their soap operas to include powerbombs, leg drops and people slapping each other around the face.

 

I don't think anyone any longer even pretends that it is a sport. Although WWE still refer to their production as "sports entertainment," as far as I know.

I don't like American wrestling. When I used to live there and when I used to watch it, I actually thought that it was real. But it's so fake and it's so shallow.

It's no different to watching Eastenders or Amy other programme with actors in.

 

I don't see Eastenders viewers being attached with the same stigma a wrestling viewer??
