Sheffield Man of Steel

Sheffield Man of Steel entries are now open!

 

This is a 5/10k cross country race with a difference.

Set in Graves park the run will take you around the whole park and as you move through the course you must overcome the various obstacles dotted along the route.

You will be wet, muddy and exhausted but hopefully still smilling at the end!

 

It will take place on Sunday 17th July 2011, start time for the 5k will be 16.00, 10k will be shortly after.

Proceeds will go to the Help for Heroes charity.

 

This race will hopefully highlight what a great city Sheffield is by not only showing it's green open spaces but also by spreading the word of local businesses who support us either with sponsorship or other help.

Hopefully it will grow to be a large scale annual event.

There are 3 programs to choose from, a beginners 5k, a moderate 10k and the man of steel program.

Did anyone else take part today? well done for the organisers well marked out and good obstacles. Great challenge done 4 10k's before and this was by far the most challenging. Particularly enjoyed wading through the pond, I can now tell my Labrador that I know how he feels once he's been in there to retrieve his ball. The sandbags and the mud bank in the woods were a killer. Will be taking part again next year, again big thumbs up to all involved organising and hoorah to all who finished.

What kind of obstacles are involved?

Anyone else booked in for this years event it Sunday 15th July. Was good fun last year obstacles through Graves Park climb up the bank in the woods, wade through the pons, monkey bars, sandbags, cargo nets, slalom in the fields. You can do 5 or 10k
