0742Sheff   10 #123 Posted May 15, 2011 My bold - I'm proof it works!  Please don't add content when quoting me. It makes people think i am contradicting myself and almost unreadable.  The council had to pay to build the houses in the first place.  Yes and those houses have more than paid for themselves in rent over the years.  No it doesn't, you're right. However, there is nothing stopping you privately renting.  There is nothing stopping you but why would you spend £500 when you can live in a house for £400?  When I had a private rental property I paid £500 for a very nice house in a nice area..... I then bought my own house 3 years ago. So it is doable (because I have a job, I look after my money etc etc.)  Congratulations. Not everyone is as lucky as you.... evensus   10 #127 Posted May 17, 2011 What makes you think it should be the council's responsibility to provide homes for people in Sheffield? I have made it my own responsibility to provide my own home  Wish I could get hold of the 20 grand for a deposit to do that luvvie. You're so much better than the rest of us. It must be a difficult burdon to carry  You can, it's called saving every penny you can for 3 to 4 years. Not spending on going out/holidays etc.
 Share this content via...
