JoeP   11 #25 Posted October 29, 2005 Psycho Night of the Demon The Shining Event Horizon The Fog  'Night of the Demon' is a bit 'old hat' now - it was a 50s film based on an MR James story. Builds the atmosphere nicely!  The Shining - it was most unfortunate that I was a late comer to this film. I saw it AFTER seeing The Simpson's 'The Shinning' so I have soem serious problems.... But good.  Psycho - the last scene where the face of Norman Bates morphs in to the face of his dead mother - gives me a cold shiver even typing it.  Event Horizon - Aargh! Scared me ****less!  The Fog - good, all round, old fashioned horror.  I was reading a Stephen King short story this afternoon called '1408' - that would make a terrifying horror short!  Joe
 Share this content via...

Frightening. Sleepless nights material.  No-one has mentioned Brain Dead. Not that scary, but the ultimate in splatter zombie films.  I thought Wolf Creek was good. Built up the tension very effectively.  Switchblade Romance is quite sinister, kind of wrecked by a daft ending though.  Tale Of Two Sisters. Bit of a head scratching plot, but scary in a very Asian horror film way. The obligatory freaky ghost of a young woman in white gown, greasy hair, cold stare, unwieldily staggering towards the camera is always a winner in my book. Deavon   10 #33 Posted October 31, 2005 I watched Saw the other night for the first time.  Why did so many people slate that movie??? I thought it was really good and had a brilliant twist in the end.  I also watched The Village this week and I thought it was pants.
