yes the one child policy was a dumb idea, as stated all the other countries in the region, all of them including the Muslim majority ones, the birthrate has massively lowered in the past generation or two, pretty much same as China's. It probably wasn't necessary.

 

as for the south east Asians not liking Chinese all that much, well can you blame them. They can see them owning most of the most successful businesses, because unlike them, the Chinese have a serious work ethic. Pick any country you like in south east Asia, be it Malaysia, Indo, Philippines, Thailand, etc and you can be rock bottom sure that the ethnic Chinese minority are just as often as not, running the best businesses.

 

That doesn't bode well for the Chinese influence in the future. It will only in the long run create an even wider resentment

Who gives a crap what those two warn. Russia is a toothless has been but which is self sufficient in oil supply.China on the other hand is the most useless parasite on the planet. They are becoming one of, if not already the biggest importer of middle east oil yet contribute nothing to help keep the situation stablized in that region.

They remain in the background, make no effort to play a diplomatic part in bringing about peace between Israel and the Palestinians. They just pay for the oil and let the west do the dirty work.

Anyway, when will you get it into your head that the US has never had, never will attack Pakistan. Although that country has an internal problem with Taleban extremists it's still an ally of the US.

The only chance that Pakistan might be invaded is if the Taleban were to seize power from the legitimate government in which case it would be absolutely imperative to go in and grab the country's nuclear weapons before those crazy bas2rds got their hands on them

the world's birthrate is falling. Few if any countries have a higher birthrate than they did 20 or 30 years ago. Most Asian countries have experienced similar falls in birthrates to China without having a one child policy. What's causing population growth is falling death rates and much fewer children dying in infancy than before not people having more children.

 

How enlightening. You might enjoy muddying the waters to make it appear that you are so, so well informed but you fool no one.

 

So I will repeat - the population is GROWING exponentially at a rate that the planet cannot possibly sustain. THAT is my point.

 

The birth rate may be falling (relatively) So why do you fail to mention that the world population has risen enormously over the last ’20 to 30 years???? (You can look up the exact numbers as you seem to spend a lot of time on WIKI).

 

I think you’ll find that the population has grown massively despite people having fewer kids.

 

Of course we are living longer which does compound the problem nevertheless having FEWER children is essential if the planet is to have any future.

 

It’s a well-documented and researched fact that two children families would alleviate the problem enormously. Why not check it out on WIKI?

obviously you can't read, mate because I never said that the world's population is not growing. Clearly it is - despite nearly every country in the world having drastically reduced their birth rates in the past generation.

 

people have been rabbiting on about over-population being 'unsustainable' since Malthus 250 years ago. Why don't you ask yourself whether the world has gotten richer or poorer, and why people today live three times longer, since then?
