Anyone fished drayton res?

hi. was on about fishing drayton and just wondered how it fishes and what bait ect

hope your fit ........straight forward and simple to fish here 4 or 5 red maggots on he hook with a swim feeder filled with red ground bait fish about 20-30 yards out keep your casting tight when they start to feed its one a chuck from 4lb to 20lb dont ever let go of your rod mate .....you wll be knackered at the end of the day, its stupid fishing lol

Well put.

 

I fished it last year,didnt get a bite all day till the early evening,then BANG the rod came off the rest, i ended up chasing it down the jetty.

 

There are monsters in there,so tip for today DONT LET GO OF YOU ROD. :hihi:

you're allowed to use two rods at drayton. just make sure you use baitrunner reels.

Fished it dozens of times pleasure and match once had 170lb on bagging waggler and only came 5th.

if the water is high dont neglect the areas under the jetty's. you need good strong line and dont bother with a float it'll just get stuck up on the wood. ive actually seen someone fishing with their backs to the water.

the carp there sometimes tend to come in easy and when you think they're ready for the net they dive under the platform and round the stanchions making you look a right mug!
